Become a volunteer pilot and change a life

As a pilot, you know the freedom that comes with flight— the moment the wheels leave the ground you feel it. For survivors of human trafficking, that same flight can mean the difference between captivity and liberation, between danger and safety, between a life stolen and a life reclaimed.

Micheal, Volunteer Pilot

"I’ve flown many humanitarian missions throughout my career, but none compare to flying for FAN. These flights place you directly in the fight against human trafficking, where even a single mission can mean hope, freedom, and a new beginning for someone trapped in darkness.”

Help Make A Difference In A Survivor’s Life

Freedom Aviation Network partners with agencies and organizations that support survivors and other vulnerable individuals (VIPs) of human trafficking. Our volunteer pilots provide scheduled flights for relocations to residential recovery programs, court appointments, family reunification, and reintegration.

Most missions are within a 350 NM range, and pilots can fly as often or a little as their schedule allows. Active pilots typically complete fewer than five missions per year.

Every flight includes a trained, trauma-informed advocate provided by the requesting agency. The pilot is responsible solely for the safety of flight, while the advocate manages all care, communication, and support for the VIP.

To ensure safety and consistency, aircraft must have at least four seats. Passengers must be 250 lbs or less, with luggage limited to 50 lbs. Partner agencies coordinate with law enforcement when needed for higher-risk situations.

Mission requests are posted through the VPOIDS Pilot Dashboard, with email notifications sent when new flights are available. The pilot is responsible for all expenses related to the flight, but all flight-related costs are tax-deductible.
